Construction - 7

Made of plastic (typical Sennheiser). Looks tough but addition of some metal pieces would't hurt. By the way, a portion of the cloth covering the earpads were already partly removed. The unit is less than a year old.

Comfort - 10

The HD555 is one of the most comfortable headphones I have tried. The earpads does a good job covering the whole ear.

Sound Quality - 8

Not until I heard a couple of AKG's did I notice Sennheiser's signature "veiled" sound on the HD555. I loved the sound of these cans before I was exposed to more high-end cans. Soundstage is huge. Detail is excellent.

Value - 10

Definitely better than the HD595 in terms of value for money. Can't really complain with it's price. A lot more cans (for the same price) are worse.

Overall - 8.8

Overall, these are great entry-level audiophile headphones. Excellent value for money with decent sound. Highly recommended for the $100 range.
